Official reports issued in Dublin state that Francis McPhillips, of Corleck, Monoghan, was taken from his home at one a.m. yesterday by six armed men. Five hours later his dead body, with that of an unknown man, was found in a lane at Aghaclay.

James Maher, of Thurles, and P. Meara, both ex-soldiers, were found shot dead yesterday at Ballytrasna, Tipperary. A paper bearing the word "Spy" was pinned to Meara's breast.
